Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is the Mexican American journalist. She is currently employed by ESPN as a anchor for SportsCenter and occasionally host SportsNation. She began her career at ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been a bilingual since she was nine years old a useful skill that helped her secure her first position working as an assistant to the producer at Univision in Miami and gave her the chance to collaborate with producers of National programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then, the CBS subsidiary in St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. In 2009, she moved away from Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she became a news correspondent on KNVO TV 48 Univision. Reporting on stories on the trafficking of drugs and immigration on both sides the Texas-Mexico border, she was reporter for news for the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 at 5pm, then a news reporter with a news anchor in English at 9 pm and the news anchor was on until 10 pm, and then returned on channel Spanish channel. She was also frequently called upon to be a sports or weather anchor. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallasthe affiliate of Univision Dallas, and she takes on more responsibility. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS as well as the World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. Her parents divorced soon after and her mother remarried a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. It was during a summer vacation that she stayed with her sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl was offered a job. At the time of her senior year in high school but knowing exactly what she wanted to do in her future, Antonietta went to the University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her needs. It turned out that she was a fan of the university and that they had the degree she was searching for. When she finished her high school education, she chose to go to the university and major in media studies. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was part of her class, developed an ongoing friendship with the student. Her professor Mark Bergmann inspired her with his enthusiasm for journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
